Internship Program

Application Process

To apply for the internship program, students must be enrolled in the relevant degree programs and demonstrate a keen interest in ICT. Applications are processed through the Uganda Christian University Human Resource Office free of charge.

We are committed to nurturing the next generation of IT professionals at the Uganda Christian University’s University ICT Services (UIS). Our comprehensive internship program is designed specifically for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. This 3-month program offers hands-on experience in various fields including networking, software development, and systems administration.

 

Networking

Gain fundamental knowledge and practical skills using network simulation tools and hands-on labs. Learn to configure test LAN environments and WiFi access points. Participate in network vulnerability analysis and develop security plans.

Software Development

Explore programming languages and version control systems through individual coding projects. Collaborate with peers on small-scale software projects using Agile methodologies.

Systems Administration

Delve into server roles and functionalities with hands-on labs on user management, security configurations, and more. Study containerisation with tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and engage in system monitoring and troubleshooting.
