UIS TECHNOLOGY WEEK SEASON 5 TRINITY 2026

  • EVENT SUMMARY

The University ICT Services (UIS) is pleased to present the 5th season of the UIS Technology Week. This year’s theme, “Tech in Action: Empowering You in a Digital Campus”, shifts focus from connectivity to capability, putting digital tools directly in the hands of students and staff so they can experience, practice, and own them.

Season 5 is built around live demonstrations, hands-on workshops, AI literacy sessions, and practical discovery activities. Participants will actively engage with platforms including Alpha MIS, Moodle, eChagua, Eduroam, Webmail, cloud tools, and Big Blue Button, not just as observers, but as empowered users.

The Technology Week continues to advance UIS’s vision of a digitally empowered UCU community where people, platforms, and purpose align to create a transformative academic experience.

  • UNDERSTANDING THE THEME

The theme “Tech in Action: Empowering You in a Digital Campus” reflects a deliberate shift from awareness to action. Season 4 connected the campus. Season 5 activates it. The emphasis is on practical empowerment: every student, staff member, and faculty member leaves the week having done something meaningful with technology.

Tech in Action

Move from demos to doing. Every session demands active participation.

Empowering You

Build individual confidence so each participant leaves with a tangible skill.

Digital Campus

Anchor digital tools to the real rhythms of academic and campus life.

This theme encourages the UCU community to reflect on how the university ecosystem can better harness technology to foster relationships, align systems, and fulfill the university’s educational and spiritual mission. It emphasises building a cohesive, digitally empowered institution where innovation is meaningful, inclusive, and purpose-driven.

The three pillars of the theme are:

  1. Tech in Action: Moving from demonstrations to doing. Every session requires active participation from attendees, not passive observation.
  2. Empowering You: Building individual confidence and competence so that each participant leaves with a skill, credential, or discovery they can immediately apply on campus.
  3. Digital Campus: Anchoring digital tools to the real rhythms of campus life, academic, administrative, social, and spiritual, affirming that technology serves UCU’s mission, not the reverse.
