At Uganda Christian University (UCU), the Directorate of University ICT Services (UIS) conducts an annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, reaching out to communities with diverse needs. This initiative is sustained through monthly contributions from our staff, under the leadership and vision of our Director, Rebecca Kangabe.
Our CSR program demonstrates how technical expertise, institutional leadership, and community values can come together to create meaningful impact. It also reflects UCU’s commitment to excellence not only in academia but also in social responsibility.
The process is participatory whereby staff propose potential communities or groups to support, after which we carry out research and engage directly with them to determine where our contribution can have the greatest impact. Using the resources collected from staff, we extend support with the clear intention of making a difference in people’s lives. In this way, our efforts remain relevant, impactful, and true to our values of service and compassion.
